We are proud to announce the release of our 2006 Monte Rosso Zinfandel, Sonoma Valley and 2006 Napa Valley Zinfandel/Petite Sirah blend, 2006 Old Vine Petite Sirah, and 2005 Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon.

2006 Monte Rosso Hillside Zinfandel, Sonoma Valley

From vineyard planted during Grover Cleveland’s first term in the 1880s, this wine offers luscious blackberry and wild raspberry with loads of exotic spices and indigenous bramble, and is elegant in style with a smooth blackberry satin finish. This is a bold Zinfandel of massive proportions. Yields were approximately 1.5 ton per acre. Aged exclusively in French oak burgundy barrels. Big, black & balanced. Only 275 cases produced.

 

2006 Napa Valley Zinfandel/Petite Sirah Blend

This is a big, thick, juicy, jammy blackberry-scented Napa Zin, including fruit from Charter Oak vineyard, with layers of lush fruit and well-integrated toasty French oak. Blended with Old Vine Petite Sirah, from the historic David Fulton Vineyard in St. Helena for added muscle and Zinfandel from the famed Monte Rosso vineyard for added spice. This is black balanced ooze in a glass with a silky and satin finish. Aged exclusively in French oak burgundy barrels. Only 400 cases produced.

 

2006 Old Vine Napa Valley Petite Sirah

Tons of ripe raspberry and blackberry, dark chocolate, and a black-cherry center. The fruit is sourced from the historic David Fulton vineyard in St. Helena planted over 80 years ago and blended with Old Vine Monte Rosso Zinfandel, which gives the wine a black cherry finish. Only 125 cases.

 

2005 Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon is made from grapes grown high a top Mount Veeder at an elevation of 1,442 feet. Monster Cabernet - inky dark, blackberry cherry. Only 35 cases produced.

 

 

2003 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of wines made from grapes grown in the Diamond Mountain and Oakville appellations. The intensity of the hillside fruit and the elegance of the valley floor fruit yield a robust wine of massive proportions. Inky dark ruby in color, with notes of blackberry and cassis in the nose, the wine has huge ripe fruit and is mount filling with a long broad finish. Aged exclusively in French oak barrels. Only 50 cases remaining and drinks like silk now that the mountain tannins have mellowed.

 

2005 Monte Rosso Hillside Zinfandel, Sonoma Valley

From vineyards planted during Grover Cleveland’s first term in the 1880s, this wine offers luscious blackberry and wild raspberry with loads of exotic spices and indigenous bramble, and is elegant in style with a smooth blueberry satin finish. Yields were approximately 1.5 ton per acre. Aged exclusively in French oak burgundy barrels. Wild Child – Hedonism personified. Only 300 cases produced.

 

2005 Napa Valley Zinfandel/Petite Syrah Blend

This is a big, thick, juicy, jammy blackberry-scented Napa Zin, including fruit from Charter Oak vineyard, with layers of lush fruit and well-integrated toasty French oak. Blended with old vine Petite Syrah from an historic St. Helena vineyard for added muscle and Zinfandel from the famed Monte Rosso vineyard for added pleasure. This is black balanced ooze in a glass with a silky and satin finish. Aged exclusively in French oak burgundy barrels. Only 300 cases produced.

 

2004 Zinfandel ‘Monte Rosso’, Sonoma Valley

From vineyards planted during Grover Cleveland’s first term in the 1880s, this wine offers luscious sweet black raspberry fruit, and is elegant in style with a smooth blueberry satin finish. Yields were approximately 1.5 ton per acre. Aged exclusively in French oak Burgundy. Only 150 cases produced.

2003 Napa2003 Napa Valley Old Vine Zinfandel/Sonoma Monte Rosso Old Vine Zinfandel & St. Helena Old Vine Petite Syrah Blend

The most current release and perhaps the best Zinfandel ever produced by Charter Oak Winery. This is a well-balanced, bold, blackberry-scented Zinfandel with loads of black currant and black cherry spice. This Zin was blended with a generous amount of Petite Syrah from two 100-year old vineyards in St. Helena, century-old Monte Rosso grapes as well as several old vine vineyards in Calistoga, St. Helena, including the Charter Oak estate Zinfandel on Charter Oak Avenue in St. Helena. This wine is elegant in style, with a blackberry cherry velvet finish and should improve with bottle aging over the next five to ten years.

2002 Napa Valley Old Vine Zinfandel/Sonoma Monte Rosso Old Vine Zinfandel & St. Helena Old Vine Petite Syrah Blend

This is a big, thick, juicy, jammy, seductive blackberry-scented Napa Zin, including fruit from Charter Oak vineyard, with layers of lush fruit and well-integrated toasty French oak. The 2002 Napa is blended with old vine Petite Syrah (1/2 ton per acre) from an historic St. Helena vineyard for added muscle and Zinfandel from the famed Monte Rosso vineyard for added wild berry flavors. This wine has a dark chocolate, Bing cherry, black berry liquor velvet finish and is elegant in style. Only 300 cases produced, limited availability. Aged exclusively in 100% new French oak Burgundy barrels.
