Mr. Robert Fanucci,

My name is Daniel Shanks and I'm the person you spoke to about the Charter Oak Zinfandel. You graciously offered to send samples of the wines and, in fact, they have arrived. My intial tasting shows the wines to be deep and redolent with fresh fruit yet, also, a sweet fresh character that gushes from the glass. Of the six 2005 bottles you included, I have tasted one, one was oozing wine from the cork – a product of shipping conditions, I fear, and I would like to use the other four at an intimate dinner in the Executive Residence. In order to do so I would request that you send (or fax) a letter stating that you are donating the four bottles to “The Executive Residence” as this protect the President and allows us to use the wine at the Executive Residence and at our discretion... I hope to choose an event that would generate a menu we can share with you for your enjoyment...
